Degrenne Paris has joined forces with internationally-renowned designer Philippe Starck to create a range of innovative and practical porcelain crockery with an understated design.

L'Econome by Starck is a clever concept that combines today's trend for healthy and conscious eating together with memories of a time when leftovers were saved and slow cooked dishes revealed their full flavour the next day.  

The collection is designed to make it easier for everyday cooking, saving work and time.  Conveniently, plates double up as snug fitting lids for the bowls. The bowl and plate-cover set, described as a 'dynamic duo', can go from fridge to oven, from oven to table and from table to fridge.

This highly versatile range of porcelain can be stacked sturdily, saving space in your cupboard or fridge.

Philippe Starck was inspired by his grandmother when designing this elegant and innovative range. "My grandmother was a formidable cook.  For a reason we never quite understand, she never prepared the dishes she served on the same day.  When it was time to sit down at the table, she would appear from the pantry with various beautiful bowls, always covered with a plate, to keep the bees and any greedy hands away she would say.  In front of us she would remove the improvised lid to reveal the most irresistible colours and scents.  At the end of the meal, she would place the plate carefully on top of the bowl and put everything back into the treasure trove pantry.  My grandmother was always a step ahead.  With Degrenne I'm bringing it back up to date."  Philippe Starck
